  1. The discolored canvas actually gives the portrait an additional "edge".

    What really stands out about this piece is how you were able to use shadows to reflect the hidden aspects of the subject (Thom), even to the point where the shadows become just as important as the subject's face itself. Excellent detail on the facial features also.

I think I have never done anything like this before - I haven't worked the upper part of the painting at all (the whites), only a little for the shadows in the hood. I really love how it worked with the face / shadows, so thank you very much :) I'm really happy you like it.
